Republicans maintain solid control of VA House

From The Washington Times:

Virginia Republicans kept their firm control of the House of Delegates, despite losing a couple of seats in yesterday's elections.

All 100 House seats were at stake, and Republicans had won at least 57 seats, Democrats 39 and independents two.

Republicans also control 60% of the Virginia Senate.

Update, Nov. 12th: Republicans hold 58 or 59 seats. Democrats stopped at 39. Upcoming recount between a Republican and an Independent.

But they have a "popular" Democrat governor. It is like California, except in reverse.

Yes, the Commonwealth of Virgifornia. ;)

I'd take Virginia's scenario any day though.

Virginia has one of the weakest executive offices in the country. The Governer can not serve consecutive terms and has less than 20 appointments. I think Virginia just has good bureaucrats.

That's like saying Seattle has nice smelling hippies. ;)

The system is obviously working there though. I might have to stow away in some semi-truck or train car and make my way to freedom.

At least we have a well run state. Consistantly at the top of list of good fiscal state management. You won't find that on the streets of Seattle.

April, I already conceded your point, for Pete's sake. We know Washington sucks, ok? Jeez...

You keep bringing it up and comparing Virginia to Seattle/Washington. I am just point out this is a bad comparision.

And all three times, I either clearly imply or flat out state that you're end of the continent is the better one, at least from the political standpoint. The reminder would have been more appreciated if it wasn't redundant. ;)

The comparisions would have been more appreciated if they had not been redundant.
